Primark today announced its expansion strategy in France with the opening of seven new stores and the expansion of its Lyon La Part Dieu store between December 2022 and the end of 2023. These openings represent a total investment of €100 million and will create 800 jobs in France.
Primark has reaffirmed its commitment to UK retail, with plans to invest £140 million over the next two years in its UK store estate. This will include the opening of at least four new stores in Bury St Edmunds, Craigavon, Salisbury and Teesside Park. The investment creates at least 850 new jobs and increases selling space by more than 160,000sq ft, in a boost to local shopping areas.
Penneys has opened its newly revamped and extended store in the heart of Galway city, following a €20 million investment by the retailer. Located on Eyre Square, the renovated store is 50% larger with the addition of a new lower ground floor, bringing an even bigger and better Penneys experience to customers in Galway.

Primark has launched a new specialist breast cancer collection of leisurewear, underwear, nightwear and accessories for women who have been impacted by breast cancer. Primark, the international fashion retailer, today opened its second store in the Czech Republic, in the Olympia Shopping Centre in Brno, following an over 220 million CZK investment. Spanning 39,000 square feet of shopping space, the store offers customers in the South Moravian region the in-store experience that Primark is loved for internationally and has created 190 new jobs in the area.
