Primark confirms it will open its first store in Hungary

Primark, the international fashion retailer, has announced plans to open in the Hungarian capital, Budapest. The first Primark store in this new market will be located in one of the city's largest shopping centres, Arena Mall and is expected to open in Primark’s next financial year (16th September 2023 – 15th September 2024). This is the latest development in the retailer’s ambitious international expansion plans.

In the face of rising cost-of-living pressures, Primark remains intent on delivering its vision of making more sustainable fashion affordable for all. One year on since the launch of its Primark Cares sustainability strategy, 45% of all clothes Primark sold came under its Primark Cares label denoting clothes that contain either recycled or more sustainable materials*. Primark has committed to transition 100% of its clothes to its Primark Cares label by 2030, while keeping its same Primark great value pricing.

Primark announces investment of €100 million in store portfolio in Spain with 1,000 new jobs

Primark, the international fashion retailer, has today bolstered its commitment to Spain by announcing a capital investment of €100 million in its Spanish business. The investment includes €80 million in eight new stores and one store extension and €20 million investment in upgrades and refurbishments in stores. Over 1,000 jobs will be created over the next two years as part of the company’s ambitious growth plans in the market.

Almost ten years after opening its first store in France, Primark reveals its ambitions for 2023

Primark today announced its expansion strategy in France with the opening of seven new stores and the expansion of its Lyon La Part Dieu store between December 2022 and the end of 2023. These openings represent a total investment of €100 million and will create 800 jobs in France.

Primark reaffirms commitment to UK retail with £140 million investment in new and existing stores

Primark has reaffirmed its commitment to UK retail, with plans to invest £140 million over the next two years in its UK store estate. This will include the opening of at least four new stores in Bury St Edmunds, Craigavon, Salisbury and Teesside Park. The investment creates at least 850 new jobs and increases selling space by more than 160,000sq ft, in a boost to local shopping areas.

Primark, the international fashion retailer, today opened its second store in the Czech Republic, in the Olympia Shopping Centre in Brno, following an over 220 million CZK investment. Spanning 39,000 square feet of shopping space, the store offers customers in the South Moravian region the in-store experience that Primark is loved for internationally and has created 190 new jobs in the area.
