Supporting UNICEF’s on-the-ground response in Ukraine

As the war in Ukraine unfolded, we were in continuous contact with our global partner UNICEF to understand how we could best support their efforts on the ground. We donated £250,000 to UNICEF’s emergency appeal to get urgent support to Ukraine’s 7.5 million children. This donation helped UNICEF to scale up life-saving support for children and their families with safe water, hygiene supplies, healthcare, access to education and psycho-social support.

In Ireland, we partnered with the Department of Justice and Dublin Airport to create and distribute over 2,500 care packs of essential items such as underwear, socks, pyjamas and warm hoodies to families arriving into Ireland. Our team of Primark volunteers were present at the airport for over two weeks welcoming families and personally distributing the packs.
