Primark, the international fashion retailer, today opened its second store in the Czech Republic, in the Olympia Shopping Centre in Brno, following an over 220 million CZK investment. Spanning 39,000 square feet of shopping space, the store offers customers in the South Moravian region the in-store experience that Primark is loved for internationally and has created 190 new jobs in the area.

The store offers the latest fashion trends and everyday essentials across womenswear, menswear and kidswear plus beauty, lifestyle and its popular homeware range. It also includes its growing Primark Cares label, all part of its commitment to make more sustainable fashion affordable for everyone. 39% of Primark’s clothing is already made from recycled or more sustainably sourced materials, and the fashion retailer has committed to make that 100% of its clothing by 2030.

Overall, the new Brno store is Primark’s 406th worldwide and joins other Primark stores in the growing CEE region including Prague, which opened last year, Ljubljana in Slovenia and its two stores in Poland, in Warsaw and Poznan. Primark is also set to open stores in Romania and Slovakia with plans to open additional stores in Poland as well.

This is a significant week for the Irish retailer as it continues its international expansion with three stores opening in three days; tomorrow it will open its 37th store in Ireland, in Tallaght, Dublin and on Friday it will open a new store in San Sebastián in Spain.

Markéta Vaňková, Mayor of Brno, said “I welcome the creation of almost 200 new jobs in Brno, including the possibility of part-time work. Customers will be pleased to see the further expansion of the shopping centre's offer and that Primark will also offer more sustainable fashion.”

Maciej Podwojski, Head of Sales, CEE said, “We are so excited to open our doors and welcome customers from the Morovian region into our new Primark Brno store today. We’ve had a great welcome in Prague and we’re delighted that our unique formula of the latest fashion trends, in addition to our great value everyday essentials, has hit the right note with Czech shoppers. We're proud to finally open this fantastic store in Brno, and bring our offering of something for everyone at affordable prices to more people in the Czech Republic.”
