Primark today announced its expansion strategy in France with the opening of seven new stores and the expansion of its Lyon La Part Dieu store between December 2022 and the end of 2023. These openings represent a total investment of €100 million and will create 800 jobs in France.
Arriving in 2013, Primark France, which is headquartered in Créteil (Ile-de-France), has grown significantly over the years. Today, the brand has a total of 20 stores in the market, which includes seven in Ile-de-France, spanning a total sales area of 100,000m2 and employing 5,820 people.
Building on this growth and the brands popularity among French consumers over the last decade, Primark will continue its expansion in the region. Following the opening of a store in the Atoll Retail Park in Beaucouzé on 9th December, another six new stores will open next year. The cities include: Brest, Grenoble (Echirolles), Mulhouse, Nantes, Rouen and St Etienne (alphabetical order).
Christine Loizy, Director General, Primark France, said: "We are very proud to present this growth and investment plan which demonstrates Primark's commitment to France. This expansion plan will create jobs and allow more and more consumers to have access to quality products at affordable prices. We are very grateful to our French customers for following our brand with such enthusiasm for almost ten years".
The next opening: Primark Atoll in Beaucouzé
The Atoll (Retail Park) is located in Beaucouzé, less than 15 minutes from the historic center of Angers. Primark will open here on December 9th at 10am. The store manager, Kevin Froment, joined Primark France eight years ago as a department manager and has since progressed to this position. Career progression is one of Primark France's strengths, with many of the company’s directors and deputy directors having advanced from internal promotions.
Accessible and quality products
Across all stores, Primark offers consumers more sustainable fashion that is accessible to all, quality everyday essentials, women's, men’s and children's clothing, as well as beauty, homeware and accessories. Now more than ever, consumers don’t have to choose between affordable prices and quality products. To support customers amid the rising cost of living, Primark froze the prices on more than a thousand of its essential kids’ products and pledged not to make any further price increases to its products in 2023.
