Primark’s partnership with REPREVE Our Ocean® is just the latest launch from the Primark Cares label, featuring a wide variety of products made with recycled fibers or more sustainably sourced materials. It marks another small step in Primark’s journey to becoming a more sustainable business.
Primark was previously a member of WRAP’s Sustainable Clothing Action Plan and is proud to have played an important collaborative role along with WRAP, other clothing brands and partners to develop the Textiles 2030 targets as an ambitious followup to that original initiative.
The collection is certified by circular fashion company Recover™, whose goal is to close the loop on fashion: its innovative and unique recycling process cuts and shreds what was once considered waste into new, high quality fibers. The eight-piece collection is available in stores from May 24th at Primark’s everyday great prices.
Primark has announced a significant expansion of its Sustainable Cotton Program, with plans to train more than 160,000 independent cotton farmers in sustainable farming methods across three of its key sourcing countries by the end of 2022. The move increases the number of farmers enrolled in the program to more than five times the current size. The expansion marks an important part of the retailer’s ongoing commitment to minimizing its impact on the environment and bringing more sustainably-sourced cotton to customers at affordable prices.
Primark has launched its first-ever collection of jeans made from 100% sustainable cotton. Produced in three different washes (indigo, black and light blue), the women’s skinny jeans will be sold in stores in all markets, at a cost of $XX.
