As the war in Ukraine unfolded, we were in continuous contact with our global partner UNICEF to understand how we could best support their efforts on the ground. We donated over £250,000 to UNICEF’s emergency appeal to get urgent support to Ukraine’s 7.5 million children. This donation helped UNICEF scale up life-saving support for children and their families with safe water, hygiene supplies, healthcare, access to education and psychosocial support.
In Ireland, we partnered with the Department of Justice and Dublin Airport to create and distribute over 2,500 care packs of essential items like underwear, socks, pajamas and warm hoodies to families arriving in Ireland. Our team of Primark volunteers were at the airport for over two weeks, welcoming families and personally distributing the packs.
“We would like to thank Primark for their continued support. UNICEF greatly appreciates the generous contribution from Primark to support our emergency humanitarian relief effort in Ukraine. At the very beginning of the conflict, when UNICEF urgently needed the funding, Primark’s donation was vital to help scale our lifesaving programs for children and families.
