Primark recognized for its investment and growth ambitions in the US by Ireland INC

2025 marks 10 years since Primark’s doors first opened in the US market.

Primark has been awarded the Invest US 2025 Award by Ireland INC in honor of its excellence and leadership within the growing community of Irish businesses that are scaling and investing in operations across the United States. The award, which recognizes companies driving Ireland’s global growth and reinforcing the strong business ties between Ireland and the US, was presented to Primark at the launch of Ireland INC’s US 250 Index, attended by Ireland INC President Ian Hyland, US Ambassador to Ireland, Edward S. Walsh, Senator Mark Daly along with business leaders from across Ireland.

The award comes as Primark celebrates 10 years of business in the US, following the opening of its first US store in Boston back in 2015. Over the past decade, the leading affordable fashion retailer has invested significantly in the expansion of its store estate across the US, with 33 stores in operation across 13 states, most recently opening a new store in Nashville, Tennessee last week. Primark has signed leases for a further 17 stores in states including Texas, New York, Minnesota, Florida and Georgia, with the aim of bringing more affordable, accessible, and quality fashion and everyday essentials to customers across the US.

Commenting on Primark’s award, Lorraine Culligan, Group Director People & Culture, Primark said: “We are honored to be acknowledged by Ireland INC, which is very timely as we celebrate our 10th year in business in the US this year. We opened our first store in downtown Boston in 2015, where the reaction to our affordable fashion offering was incredible, and since then our US business has grown from strength to strength. I'd like to thank all our colleagues past and present who have supported the growth and success of our business in the US.

The US is a very important market for Primark; we have big expansion plans and we’re especially excited to open a flagship store in the heart of Manhattan on Herald Square in Spring next year, as we focus on bringing our unique Primark combination of quality products at affordable prices to more customers across the US in the years ahead.”

Primark continues to expand its international network, including US operations, with over 470 stores in 18 markets across Europe, the US and most recently the Middle East. The company’s scaling store estate and operations are supported by 80,000 dedicated colleagues worldwide from 190 countries, the majority of whom are based in retail stores supporting customers that visit Primark every day.
