Irish clothing retailer brings iconic style and exceptional value to heart of NYC.
Primark, the Irish clothing retailer that offers quality fashion at value prices, today opens its landmark flagship store at Herald Square in Manhattan’s PENN DISTRICT. Since opening its first US store at Downtown Crossing in Boston in 2015, Primark has grown to 40 locations across 13 states, bringing affordable fashion to communities across the US.
This opening demonstrates Primark’s extraordinary expansion across the US following openings in Miami, Florida, Grapevine and Katy, Texas, Gurnee, Illinois, and most recently in Hurst, Texas. The store also joins Primark’s New York locations as the eleventh in the state to meet the demand from New Yorkers.
"Our flagship at Herald Square is a defining moment for Primark’s US growth story," said Kevin Tulip, President of Primark US. “New York is a city where trends are born and where style is worn with unstoppable confidence. But great style should not come with an impossible price tag and that’s where Primark comes in. From quality styles to value prices, we're inviting every NYC shopper to our Manhattan doorstep as we open our doors in the epicenter of American fashion.”
The Herald Square flagship is perfectly positioned to capture high commuter and tourist footfall, housing more than 54,000 square feet of retail selling space. Shoppers will discover quality fashion at prices families will love, with women's denim starting at $12, men's tees at $5, and girls' and boys' sweatshirts at $8—meaning each member of the family can be dressed for less than $50. New Yorkers and visitors will find trending fashions, everyday essentials, and amazing gifts and travel finds—all at exceptional value.
Primark Herald Square brought a packed schedule for its grand opening celebrations on Friday. Store doors opened with a ribbon cutting and outside, Primark hosted a Herald Square block party celebration. Attendees were treated to Primark-inspired bagels from Liberty Bagels, classic New York carbs from Sigmund’s Pretzels and NYC Kettle Corn. Guests also enjoyed an authentic, rhythmic collision of Irish step and hip-hop with performances and instruction by Fusion Fighters, showcasing fast feet, sharp hits, and unapologetic attitude.
